Politically correct 101: Call it anything but March 31, 2009

It’s official, the “war on terror” is over. Our president in his infinite wisdom suggests that calling it the “war on terror” offends people, so, to show the whole world how weak America has become, we call the “war on terror”, “overseas contingency plan”.
That’s sad because growing up, my perception of America was this big brother with strong shoulders who fought for freedom, coming to the aid of those who are too weak to defend themselves, fighting those who threaten to destroy what America stands for. So much for calling it the “land of the free and the home of the brave”. If the president himself cannot stand up and call evil by its right name, who will?
How about you? 
Evil? There is evil in the world? I’m shocked, SHOCKED to hear you say that! Haven’t you heard the new way of talking? If you don’t name it, it doesn’t exist! ; )

That’s strange, because, growing up, my perception of America was as the embodiment of all evil, the coalescence of satanically inspired violence, rape and perversity. Like most people in the world in fact.

Let me guess, you must be from Belgium, where the chocolate is great and incest and euthenasia are legal according to http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/372607/little_known_facts_about_belgium.html. Here in America, those things are illegal, but then again, you’re right… most people in the world are evil as you said. Or did you mean, most people in the world have the same perception as you do, that America is the embodiment of all evil?
Here’s the truth… despite the fact that your perception of America is skewed, America does a lot of good in terms of helping other nations, in terms of preserving human rights and human dignity, and in terms of caring for the environment, and not to mention leading the world in science and technology innovation. No other nation on earth will be as great as America, not even Belgium. Sadly one day America will rule the world and dictate a new world order, and Belgium will have to go with the flow, but there is hope. I can share you that hope if you are willing to listen. Unfortunately, it seems like you’re mind is closed judging from your email user name, “Madfranki40″, which by the way is from hotmail.com… an American based company. You’ve heard the saying before, “a mind is like a parachute… it only works if it is open”… I hope yours is. Hope you have a wonderful day in Belgium… living in America, I know I have!
